Yin Yoga is a slow, steady style of yoga targeting the myofascial, ligaments, bones and joints in the body. Yin serves as a complementary practice to balance the more active or Yang yoga styles.
In Yin Yoga, we hold our poses for longer periods of time, encouraging stillness and patience. Practicing Yin Yoga teaches us to notice the subtle sensations in the body and to respond to what our bodies are telling us.
In this way, Yin practice is also a practice in deep listening, acceptance of the body and compassion towards the self.
